DaVinci Resolve 7 Showcased at Third Annual Amsterdam FCPUG SuperMeet
August 20, 2010

Milpitas, CA, USA -- Blackmagic Design Inc. announced that it will again be supporting the Third Annual Amsterdam FCPUG SuperMeet as platinum sponsor. Blackmagic Design also announced it will be introducing the DaVinci Resolve 7 for Mac in a presentation by Warren Eagles, an international freelance color artist, at the event. The SuperMeet will be held at the Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam, Netherlands on Sunday, 12 September.

The sponsorship and workflow presentation by Warren Eagles continues Blackmagic’s ongoing support of the Amsterdam FCPUG SuperMeet, which Blackmagic has been a platinum sponsor since the inaugural event in 2007.

The Amsterdam FCPUG SuperMeet this year will highlight Final Cut Studio collaborative editing workflows by high-level editors and color artists, and will for the first time, include color grading workflows on a Mac. Warren Eagles, who has been a color artist for more than 20 years on movies such as “The Great Raid” and “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels,” as well as TV series such as “Rush”, will offer an in-depth, first look into the new DaVinci Resolve version 7 for Mac.

As well, the entire second half of the SuperMeet will be hosted by Lead instructor for Apple’s Pro Apps training program, Abba Shapiro, who will be joined by some of Europe’s best Final Cut Studio Gurus to teach the audience in their “best of the best” FCS workflow tips and techniques.

“Our goal is to make Final Cut Studio shine at the Amsterdam SuperMeet,” states Daniel Berube, SuperMeet Co-Producer. “We’re thrilled to have Blackmagic Design with us once again to engage the audience with Warren Eagles using Blackmagic solutions front and center in their Final Cut Studio workflow.”

SuperMeets provide the postproduction and broadcast community an opportunity to not only learn about the latest technology trends, but to connect with each other to discuss experiences and opportunities within the industry in a social setting. The user-driven format offers engaging presentations and training by community members and industry technologists.

The event will also include a SuperMeet Digital Showcase featuring hardware and software developers providing workflow solutions for digital filmmakers and content creators. Additionally, the SuperMeet will feature for the first time in Amsterdam an Open Screen Theatre showcasing local filmmakers who wish to “Get Seen” by screening their work in an informal, collaborative setting. Rounding out the evening will be "World Famous Raffle" with thousands of Euros worth of filmmaker-related prizes to be handed out to dozens of lucky winners.
