Cut Up "Sweeney Todd"

By Neal Romanek

Jan 2, 2008 - 6:43:36 AM

Attention aspiring Hollywood directors: Think it's so easy to direct a movie? How about the movie preview trailer? Could you condense a two-hour film into one minute? Now you can test your editing skills and see if you can "cut" it by making your own trailer for "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street." The movie's Web site has a nifty online editor with all the pieces (video clips, audio clips, titles, graphics, transitions) necessary to make a trailer for the film. When you're done, you can post your finished product to the site. The final edit has to be under a minute long. No prizes awarded. Warning! This thing has the potential to be a serious time suck. It's surprisingly sophisticated and terribly addictive. Make a real slasher flick or, if you're really good, maybe you can turn the story around and make it into a heartwarming family tale about an aspiring London pie merchant and her moody, misunderstood barber boyfriend. Hmmmmm ... If your labors leave you a little famished, don't despair! Mrs. Lovette always has a tasty meat pie to offer.Click here to read the original post at SeattlePI.com. Cut your own "Sweeney Todd" trailer now.
