Canon and Avid Technologies, Inc. Create Pro Video Codec
March 8, 2010

Canon, one of the world leaders in camera and video recording products, has teamed with Avid Technology, Inc. to create a pro video codec for the mainstream professional market. Doubling the standard color data that can be stored on traditional file based cameras, the codec is a breakthrough for the industry.

File based cameras are now the standard for professional filming. Not only can large amounts of data be stored with ease, but these files are easier to access after filming during the editing process. Making sure that they can be edited on popular professional systems, however, is key.
