The 3D bloodbath starts next year, when 28 movies are currently
scheduled in 3D... more than one every other weekend. The more 3D
movies on the schedule, a higher percentage that are titles that
wouldn't work in any dimension... the more chance of single digit
domestic openings and under $20m domestic grosses... and suddenly, it's
not worth the money to do the 3D for some pictures.
That's when the gamespeople start the same bs rant about 3D that they
love to do about theatrical in general... it's just for BIG movies now!
Bullshit. 3D is good for movies that can use 3D to some positive end.
I think Soderbergh or Anonofsky or someone else with feet in both art
and commerce could well make a $15 million 3D masterpiece. Click www.mcnblogs.com for the whole story.
