Rob Hummel, CEO of Prime Focus Post Production in North America, will host the session "3D Fundamentals: The Basics of Producing Stereoscopic 3D Content" at Digital Video Expo on Wednesday, Sept. 23. The session takes place in the Presentation Theater.

"3D Fundamentals" is a primer of sorts on some basic stereoscopic concepts that those thinking of producing 3D content should be aware of. 3D isn't "just like 2D, but with two cameras." It requires understanding of basic mechanics, including interocular distance, convergence, impact on the viewer, and before-screen vs. behind-screen 3D convergence.
